In this body of work I invite viewers on a visual journey that delves into the complexities of feminine identity and the diverse ways in which it is perceived and shaped. Each photograph serves as a singular piece of visual language, but another perspective emerges when considering the images as contributions to a larger mosaic of meaning and contemplation. By delving into the fragility and reality that constitutes my physical being, I hope to bridge the gap between broad terms and accessible understanding.
Themes of fertility, aging, eros and sex appeal, « male gaze » or « social gaze », quietly weave through the imagery. Exploration of these ideas happens through the use of "parts" - each photograph presenting a surgically removed fragment, displayed in evidence-like or medical terms. On one hand, this approach may be seen as an appropriation of the gazes, challenging traditional objectification. On the other hand, it could be perceived as perpetuating the gazes - by denying the viewer the whole and focusing solely on isolated parts. This dichotomy is worth pondering, as it raises questions about representation and perception.
