"I Dreamed I Was a Sea" is my long-term personal photography project, a journey of introspection and exploration. It delves into the complexities of dream states, where dreams intertwine with haunting memories and childhood reflections. In this dream-like wakefulness, I delve into my thoughts and emotions, seeking a reality that transcends the tangible, existing within myself.
The title, "I Dreamed I Was a Sea," resonates deeply due to my profound affinity with the sea. Beyond its literal representation, the sea symbolises the ebb and flow of emotions, mirroring the complexities of my inner world. Using a blend of colours and black-and-white tones, along with contrasts of light and dark, I aim to capture the dual nature of these dreamlike states. This project has been a deliberate endeavour, with photographs taken over the past few years, kept within my personal journal until now.
